Blueshift起業以前は、大学卒業後、三菱商事に同社営業部門で初めての女性総合職として入社、IT 関係のハード・ソフト米国ベンチャーへの投資や投資先の日本での事業開発に携わった。その後、マッキンゼー社でマネジメントコンサルタントとして大手電機メーカーのインターネット戦略などを手がけ、ベンチャーアクセラレータのネオテニーでスタートアップの投資・育成に従事した経験もある。

Chika Watanabe

Chika is the founder and principal of Blueshift Global Partners, a Silicon Valley-based consultancy that advises investors and technology companies on their US-Japan trans-border strategies. She provides her clients a unique value by combining her experience in technology-sector consulting at McKinsey, cross-border investments at global trading firm Mitsubishi Corporation, and assisting early-stage ventures at start-up accelerator Neoteny.
Chika has an in-depth technological knowledge to understand the emerging technology trend and analyze its impact on a specific business. She is also well versed in inter-company negotiations, having supported various joint marketing and R&D relationships as well as M&A deals.
Prior to Blueshift, she was in charge of business development at Neoteny, a startup accelerator based in Tokyo. At Mitsubishi Corporation, she was the first female career-track employee in its front-line of business.
